For those who are currently rolling your eyes and wondering how on earth a leather bag could possibly be an investment or that of a smart investment. Its very simple once broken down. This is how I see it if you were to purchase 2 or 3 clutches/handbags each season. Say they cost anywhere between $100-$300 each, thats a total of $800 – $3600 a YEAR. I know its hard to believe when you actually add it up, isn’t it ?
Better yet if we were to break it down further to cost per wear – A $2000 handbag you use pretty much everyday works out to be the price of your daily large coffee (or hot chocolate for us big kids and don’t skimp on those marshmallows ). Not so bad when you think of it like this. And the investment part well when you buy a luxury piece like this that you have worked hard to save for you care for it just that bit better and they never go out of style these pieces eventually become much loved vintage style.
So the question is, now how do you feel about purchasing that bag you have been eyeing off for the past couple of years ?
Here are 5 questions to ask yourself before buying that expensive item.
Do I currently own something similar ?
Is this a one-season item ?
How often will I realistically use this item ?
Is this an impulse buy?
Do you actually have the money available without missing a rent payment ?
